What is a Spanish BB?

A Spanish BB is a new type of bottom bracket developed by Fly Bikes. It uses a special bottom bracket shell which allows the bearings to press directly into the frame. This makes installing cranks really easy. 99% of the time your old cranks will fit straight in but feel free to ask us if you have any questions. We supply 19mm and 22mm bearings with every frame which are the most common sizes used. Other non-conventional size bearings are available from any BMX shop

How do I fit it?

All you do is tap one bearing in with a wooden mallet or hide hammer, insert the spacer tube included then tap the other one into the opposite side. If it takes you more than 5 minutes you have screwed up.

What is an integrated headset?

The integrated headset combines traditional bearing cups and bearings into one handy-dandy bearing. This literally drops into the frame with no banging, swearing or hassle. In short - it's bloody great.

Hang on, won't I wreck the frame if I mangle the headset?

Nope, the bearings may die but your frame will be fine. The head-tube parts are all heat-treated and we have yet to see one of ours (or any other for that matter) fail.

Do you have a warranty?

Of course. We offer a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for all of our parts. So if we messed up we will fix it. If you did, read below...

I messed up and my bike exploded what now?

Ok so you screwed up. No bike product is indestructable. But you've wrecked your bike and thats no fun. If thats the case let us know and we'll try and help you out as best we can. We've all been there so we know how much it sucks. All we ask is that you don't take the piss, we can smell BS a mile off, be truthful and you'll get a much better response.

How much does the plan B/ evil twin weigh?

There are many reasons we don't quote frame weights on our site. First of all this whole weight saving craze that's sweeping the industry is another fad, we've seen it come and go countless times. Bikes designed for what we intend ours to do should not be tanks, but at the same time we're not going to risk our riders health by hopping onboard the weight saving bandwagon. It would be very easy to put out a superlight frame but what's the point?
We always design to our own brief which is to make the best handling frames that can take whatever you throw at them. The other reason is that due to manufacturing tolerances it's very rare that two frames will weigh exactly the same so rather than lie to you all we say is the plan B weighs about 6lb, the evil twin is about 7lb.

Do you have any dealers?

Yup we work with a few dealers, and we're happy to consider any new ones too. Email us at info@staticbikes.co.uk if you need more info.

In the meantime check http://www.chainreactioncycles.com and http://www.wiggle.co.uk

Will you sponsor me/my event/jam?

Maybe. We like to help out rider-run jams. Likewise if you think you've got what it takes to make it onto the static team send us a bio, some pics or a video. Email it to info@staticbikes.co.uk

How do you run a gyro on an MTB?

It's not rocket science, just be patient and make sure you have the right parts for the job. Always match a V-Brake lever to a V-brake or V-compatible disc and the opposite for non-V-type brakes. Then get a good gyro (the snafu mobeus is the best we found). Then take 5 minutes to figure out what's doing what, use loads of lube on the cables and don't be scared to use a few gnarps (the neat little cable shorteners that odyssey make). Oh and of course make sure you use our own Barspin kit http://www.staticbikes.co.uk/accessories.php

Will you ship to...?

The UK pound is crazy strong at the moment, but we're working on some international options. If you can't wait that long email us for a price to ship to your country - info@staticbikes.co.uk

Do you have any international distributors?

Not yet, we're talking through some distribution deals at the moment. Watch this space.

What's the difference between the plan B and evil twin?

A lot of companies tried to make a frame that worked with 24" and 26" wheels. Compromise always sucks, so we didn't do that. The plan b is a dedicated 24" frame and the evil twin is a dedicated 26" frame, both with their own individual characteristics.
